I'm not sure where to post this but if anyone out there with CRecorder experience can assist, I would be very grateful. I have a data file which captures a fault event but I can't interpret it fully.
I have an intermittent fault with my Signum which the garage cannot find - it behaves perfectly in the shop. It illuminates the EML and goes into limp mode, but does not log a hard fault.
The fault is more common on cold, wet or foggy days. When I start the engine, there may be zero throttle response for the first 15 seconds, then it behaves almost normally. If the car drives normally it will probably be ok for the day, but sometimes it is sluggish and appears to be low on power with the turbo audible, which is normally a precursor to the fault event. The fault usually occurs when I accelerate, or when I release the throttle after acceleration. This occurs irrespective of the enthusiasm of the acceleration - it has faulted on cruise control simply while maintaining 60mph. When the fault occurs, the dash light (spanner on car) illuminates and the car loses power. The car then goes into limp mode and loses torque above approximately 1700rpm - I can maintain speed if I accelerate slowly at low rpm, but if I increase rpm torque disappears and speed will fall. No hard fault is logged, and if I stop and rest the car or lock it, the fault resets - hence I cannot get it to the garage in a fault condition.
I purchased a CRecorder and captured an event on the third trip - I can see manifold pressure and airflow dropping but that is probably a symptom of limp mode, not the event which prompted it. Any assistance would be appreciated.
